What sort of vit supplement should I get when I start a raw diet for a 6 month old German Shepherd?
Filed Under Natural Pet Suppliments | 6 Comments
My German Shepherd pup is eating herself to death. We have had several vet checks. She has been on Prednazone (sp) for the last two months. It hasn’t been working and she has been eating herself to death. I took her back to the vet today and found out that she has a staph infection due to her digging and chewing and they gave her a steriod injection. He said it should work instantly unless it is a food allergy. So far it hasn’t helped. We discussed changing foods within a weeks time if she is still chewing. He suggested Science Diet ZZ or ZD (?). She is on Lamb and rice right now, Chicken made her chew herself more so I am almost positive it is food related. I am reading up on raw diet and wondering where on earth do I find the vit to put in her food?? We don’t really have a pet store anywhere near here. Or should I try to change her to the Eukanuba venison? I’m trying to save money and keep my dog healthy, thats why I ask that. The SD food is HIGH!

what is the best supplement that you can buy at a pet store for a black lab with arthritus?

My dog is about 11 years old, recently he has had some problems just getting around. The vet gave me a special food for him but is there a vitamin or a pill of some sort to give to help other than his food? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

African Giant Millipede owners what do you feed your pet?
Filed Under Natural Pet Suppliments | 1 Comment
I have an African Giant Black Millipede who is about 2 years old I think. He was handed to me from a previous owner and since I love animals and have worked at a zoo for a while, I guess I was the best home.
I feed him cucumbers, lettuce and salad type things. Working at the zoo I was told they should be supplemented occasionally. I bought some tortoise pellets since they are salad eaters as well but Roto, my pet, won’t eat it.
Maybe it’s because I put them in with cucumbers and if you put the broccoli next to candy of course the kid picks candy right?
Just wondering, what do you supplement your pets with?
And how long have they been on it?

I just got a male beta fighting fish and this is my first fish “pet”. They say to supplement him live food to keep the coloring outstanding, etc. My question is what can I feed him live? Brine shrimp and bloodworms have to be bought at the store, can I go in my backyard and give him some yummy treats like ants or mosquitos, little crickets, etc?

I have a three year old pitbull that was diagnosed with cancer on Feb 18th after she went in at 2:00am for emergency surgery. They gave her 19-45 days to live. Since then I have been trying every remedy possible to save her. From an all natural diet to vitamins and supplements. Today she became ill with vomiting and was taken into the vets office. They couldn’t tell exactly what was going on with her, only that she has an infection. So I have come to understand that she will soon be leaving me. Should I give up on the vitamins and meals that she is not so crazy about? I know that she prefers her kibble but I am just wondering if I stop trying to help her am I giving up? I have researched the disease and only found one success story. Just wondering pet owners what would you do in my situation?
